Nearly every year, we rent a home in a different place. Sometimes we have gone to the mountains; other times to the ocean. Sometimes we go north; other times we fly south. This year we rented a home in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.

Kiawah is delightful. Streets meander through marshes, past lakes, and by rolling golf greens.
The island is magical with moss hanging from wide oak branches.
For design aficionados, the island is an architect-lover's heaven.
The vacation home we rented has a restfully coordinated interior. A neutral palate guides the eye from the front door, room to room, and out the back door.
A touch of Asian in almost every room provides continuity.
And, framed botanicals, all made by the same artist, unify the entire house.
The extras like a child-safe gated swimming pool and bicycles make fun for all ages!
Finally, close proximity to Charleston provides an easy day of shopping and sight-seeing.
I highly recommend family vacations. Our annual family times--hands-down--have been the best memory-makers and bond-builders. We consider them preventative medicine necessary for maintaining family health.
The last photo is priceless!!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a good time away with your dear family. We will take our annual pilgrimage into the mountains soon. We are greatly looking forward to it.
But first, Jonathan is scheduled for a root canal this morning....crazy!
